PALMDALE JAIL:

Posting bail isn't something that many people do every day, so it is no surprise that when a time comes that they need to bail a friend or family member out of jail, they will have numerous questions. Steve Muehler is happy to answer any questions about posting bail in Los Angeles County or anywhere else in the Great State of California. The following are some of the most common questions we get asked, should you have others, don't hesitate to call us.

What is bail?

Bail is a right afforded to American citizens as dictated by the constitution. It acts as insurance to the court, stating the defendant will appear at each and every one of their scheduled court dates or else the bail amount will be forfeited.

What is a bail bond?

Instead of having to pay the full bail amount to have your friend / family member released from jail you can use a bail bond agency, such as Steve Muehler, to provide the court with a bond that guarantees full payment of the bail amount if the defendant does not appear in court.

Do I need collateral to post bail?

Most of the time collateral is not needed in order to post bail. However, it may be based on certain circumstances. Contact us to find out more about using collateral to post bail.

Who is the indemnitor?

The person paying the bond premium to the bail agency is known as the indemnitor or cosigner. This person assumes responsibility for the actions of the defendant. They are tasked with getting the defendant to court and they may incur financial debts should the defendant skip bail.

What is the bond premium?

1) When an arrestee calls someone who can help them with the process of getting you out of jail, that person is agreeing to complete the required informational forms and to pay the premium, which is the amount that is charged for writing the bond. By law, the minimum charge for a bond is $100.00. If your bond is $1,000.00 or less, the charge will be $100.00. If your bond is more than $1,000.00, the charge will be 10% of the bond. Each charge has a separate bond which is not refundable. Collateral may or may not be necessary and it is on a case by case basis.

Are there any Chances for a Discounted Premium?

Yes, Steve Muehler can offer a 20% discount (8% Bond Rate) for those who have retained private counsel, are active union members, active members of the United States Military, and people who are 55 years of age and older (all with acceptable collateral).

Does Steve Muehler Offer Financing of the Premium?

Yes, Steve Muehler offers Zero Percent Financing for installment payment plans (up to six months) with no hidden fees, extra charges, or taxes.

Do We Need to Come into the Offices?

No, many times we can handle all paperwork online and via email, and we accept credit cards, cash, bank wires, personal checks and business checks when possible.

How long does it take for someone to be released?

Once the bond is issued it can take anywhere from 1 hour to 7 hours or more for the defendant to be released, depending on the size of the facility they're being held at and how busy the jail is.
